NOTORIOUS DRUG LORD FINALLY ARRESTED
Carlos Guerrero was caught red-handed at the scene of a crime; charged with kidnapping an officer.
July 31, 2006 The infamous Miami drug lord Carlos Guerrero (33) was arrested last night at 11:52 PM for kidnapping and attempted murder of an officer, whose name will remain confidential to ensure his own safety. The unnamed officer was seen as a threat to Guerrero, and was kidnapped by Guerrero's henchmen and taken to an abandoned parking structure, where he planned on killing the officer. Before he could do so, Detective McNamara and his

team of armed officers, who had been tailing Guerrero, intervened and arrested him. The officer sustained only minor injuries. Guerrero was arrested for kidnapping and attempted murder of an officer, but his crimes go far beyond that.
In addition to his drug dealings, Carlos Guerrero has been tied to numerous murders. The complete list of crimes that Guerrero was wanted for includes Murder, Kidnapping, Drug Trafficking/Distribution, Money Launder-ing, and Extortion. For three years, the police department has been trying to collect enough evidence to prove his guilt, but he has eluded arrest through his use of henchmen.

A brush with the police just last month, in which he hired an assassin by the name of Norberto Cervantes to kill Officer Ricky Simmons and his wife Kara Simmons, exemplifies the extent of his power and immunity. When Guerrero met up with Cervantes to pay him, officers were on scene to arrest Cervantes on solid DNA evidence. Unfortunately, there was no evidence to link Guerrero to these murders. To brandish his power even further, Guerrero hired another assassin to kill Cervantes before he could turn over evidence against Guerrero to the police.
Guerrero's trial begins next week, where he will most likely be sentenced upward of 25 years in prison.
